Search Continues for a Medical Jet Missing Off Massachusetts

Six people still unaccounted for

The Coast Guard is using sonar to search the ocean floor off Massachusetts for a missing air ambulance. The jet disappeared early Saturday on a flight from Bermuda to Boston with six people aboard.

Tracking data showed the aircraft drop sharply from about 24,000 feet. Air traffic control received a partial transmission and then no further response from the cockpit.

What searchers have found

Over the weekend, crews reported finding something in the Atlantic near Nantucket. Officials have not confirmed that the find is the missing jet, and they have not said that any of the people aboard have been recovered.

The search has shifted from a surface rescue to a seabed survey. Families are still waiting on an identification.
