Britney Spears Inks Landmark $200 Million Deal to Sell Music Catalog

In a move that solidifies her legacy as the "Princess of Pop," Britney Spears has officially sold the rights to her extensive music catalog. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the pop icon reached an agreement with the prominent music publishing firm Primary Wave.

While the exact financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed in the official filings, industry sources characterize it as a "landmark deal." Insiders suggest the payout is in the neighborhood of $200 million, drawing comparisons to the massive deal Justin Bieber secured when he sold his own catalog.

The acquisition covers the vast majority of Spears' chart-topping hits that defined an entire era of pop music. Fans can expect the deal to include timeless tracks such as "...Baby One More Time," "Oops!... I Did It Again," "Toxic," "Gimme More," and "Slave 4 U."

The documents indicate that Spears, managed by Cade Hudson, finalized the sale on December 30. Sources close to the singer say she is thrilled with the outcome and has been celebrating the milestone by spending quality time with her children.

Spears is the latest in a string of high-profile artists to opt for catalog sales in recent years. By joining Primary Wave—the same firm that purchased a majority stake in Stevie Nicks' publishing in 2020—she joins the ranks of Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Shakira, all of whom have capitalized on the surging value of music IP.

Neither representatives for Spears nor Primary Wave have issued a public statement regarding the acquisition, but the deal marks a significant new chapter for the singer’s professional and financial independence.
