According to a recently published peer-review-journal, mothers who experience high levels of stress during pregnancy have been linked to newborn babies who cry and are more irritable.

The study was undertaken to see how COVID-19 has impacted mothers and their babies.

Data analysis from expectant mothers who completed four assessments a day both before childbirth, and once the babies reached 3 months old revealed interesting findings. Although no differences in stress patterns were detected before and during the pandemic, fluctuating stress was associated with higher negative emotions in infants.
